FORT MYERS, FLORIDA – May 5, 2015 – Ad-Ler Roofing announces the debut of a new eBook, How to Clean & Maintain My Roof. The eBook outlines the details of what is required to properly and safely clean a roof. It highlights everything from personal hazards, to roof inspections and use of proper cleaning chemicals. The book focuses on how to ensure the safety of the person cleaning the roof, as well as protecting the roof from costly damage.

“At Ad-Ler Roofing, we believe in arming people with knowledge,” said Adam Currier. “The primary goal of this eBook is to help people avoid common hazards that could result in a trip to the ER. We see injuries or worse far too often as a result of someone attempting to clean their roof without really understanding the risks, or without seeking the help of a professional. We hope that this free resource will help to avoid this.”

The eBook begins by discussing the “reality” of roof cleaning. It outlines the special skills that are required, as well as the various hazards that accompany this task.

“Many homeowners think, ‘I’ve gone on the roof to hang Christmas lights, what’s the difference?,’ Adam added. But, walking on a wet roof and managing bulky cleaning equipment is far more hazardous than stringing lights.”

The book also points out how, in addition to personal risks, there are also potential dangers to the roof. For example, use of the wrong chemicals can cause thousands of dollars in damage, excessive water pressure can etch or degrade tile and blow out grout work. A wrong step on the roof can also break tile and puncture the underlayment, leading to leaks and water damage.

How to Clean & Maintain My RoofThe eBook goes on to further discuss the importance of a thorough roofing inspection. Whether a homeowner chooses to clean their roof on their own, or hire a professional, a roofing inspection is recommended to prevent future issues.

Lastly, “How to Clean & Maintain My Roof” discusses the various cleaning products used for roof cleaning. Different types of roofs require different cleaning products, and certain products may be hazardous to those living in the home if used improperly.

“How to Clean & Maintain My Roof” is the first in a series of free eBooks and educational resources by Ad-Ler Roofing. Ad-Ler’s eBook library can be found at www.adlerroofinginc.com/ebooks.
